Early Learning Goals
In September 2000 the foundation stage was introduced into the National Curriculum as a distinct phase of education for children aged 3-5. There are six areas of learning which form the basis of the foundation stage curriculum and each area has a set of related early learning goals. The areas are:

Personal, social and emotional development
Communication, language and literacy
Mathematical development
Knowledge and understanding of the world
Physical development
Creative development

Many of our products help to achieve the early learning goals related to each of the above areas. You will see the related early learning goal listed in the product description, where appropriate.

The National Curriculum, of course, also covers ages 5+. It, broadly speaking, says when things must be taught by describing broad ‘Key Stages’. Related National Curriculum subjects are also mentioned in our product descriptions.
